ConnectMyGear answers one question: I have these things, how do I make them work together?

Connecting gear shouldn’t take an evening of searching. Manufacturers explain their own products, not how to combine a 1994 VCR with a 2026 TV. Most articles bury the answer under history, and many recommend the wrong adapter direction.

How the answers are made

Every answer comes from a set of written rules about connectors, signals and converters, not from a chatbot guessing. The rules know, for example, that composite video is analog, that HDMI is digital, and that the converter between them only works in one direction. When we can’t confirm something about your gear, we say so and ask, rather than guess.

Some features use AI to understand what you typed or to read a photo of your ports. AI only helps identify what you have. The rules decide what works.

Safety comes first

We don’t give advice on mains electricity, household wiring or modifying batteries. Where a recommendation involves power or current, such as speaker wire, we use conservative math and show our working.
