Common confusion
The red video jack and the red audio jack are different. Component uses five plugs in total for picture and sound.
Going from Component video to something else
- HDMI: Component to HDMI converter (needs power).
Getting something else into Component video
- HDMI: HDMI to component converter (needs power). Sharper than composite. The TV must accept the resolution the converter sends (480p is safest on CRTs).
